About Us 

In addition to being a discount marine store, Sports & Marine Parafunalia is a one-of-a-kind watersports specialty store, selling everything in our retail store from swimwear, water shoes and wet suits to masks, fins & snorkels, inflatable boats, towable tubes, rafts and Stand-up paddle boards too.  A place uniquely designed for people who will be in or on the water whether it be swimming or boating. We carry the state's largest selection of waterskis, wakeboards, kneeboards, wetsuits, life vests and discount marine accessories, including cleaners, waxes, anchors, fenders, and dock lines, everything boating enthusiasts will need. 

Our huge selection of kayaks for one and two people by Perception, Emotion and Wilderness, and three and five man pedal boats by KL contribute to the diverse selection of items for summer fun. Rental waterskis, wakeboards, Air Chairs, wakeskates, wakesurfers, and kneeboards are also available. Or take advantage of the "Try it and Buy it" policy.  Rent a water ski, wakeboard, kneeboard or kayak, and if you decide to buy it, we will apply your days rental towards the purchase price. 

By way of history, Sports & Marine Parafunalia is a family-run enterprise founded in 1972.  Beginning as a Western Auto store originally located on Main Street in Meredith, by 1975 we quickly outgrew that space and moved to the Meredith Shopping Center. Over time the merchandise gradually changed each year until the major focus became all about the water. Considering Meredith NH is located on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee, the 5th largest landlocked lake in the United States, it was a very good decision. Our current location on Route 11-B in Gilford (also known as 44 Weirs Road, Gilford) was established in 1985. In 2005, the Meredith store closed its doors and the business was consolidated into the Gilford location. 

We concentrate solely on watersports recreation, swimwear and sportswear.  We do water, and water only, so if there's a toy or game, or anything fun to use in, on or around the water, Sports & Marine Parafunalia is probably going to stock it.  And if the customer asks for it, we're going to figure out a way to get it. Sports & Marine Parafunalia's selection is unmatched elsewhere in the state for watersports equipment, selling more wet suits and waterskis, wakeboards and tow tubes in the Lakes Region than everyone else combined. Remaining a family business for more than 38 years, we have continually strived to keep it family friendly and a fun experience that satisfies the desires of the seasonal residents and vacationers who enjoy our spectacular lakes.

We offer Speedo, TYR, Body Glove, Roxy and Quicksilver swimwear and have a full line of wet suits from O'Neill, Ski Warm, and Body Glove. An unmatched selection of waterskis from HO, Connelly, O'Brien and Radar and wakeboards from Hyperlite, Liquid Force, O'Brien, Ronix and CWB can all be found at Sports & Marine Parafunalia.
